24 x 20 inch DredgeMasters
Cutter Suction Dredge

DredgeMasters dredgers are well known for their robust construction, reliable operation, and excellent performance.  The heavy duty construction, combined with a 60-foot dredging depth, 375 hp cutter and large dredging winches makes this dredge suitable for dredging hard clay and other difficult materials at deep depth.   This dredge is suitable for small harbor construction, canal building, maintenance work and environmental projects such as swamp land reclamation etc.

This Dredge has recently been refurbished, it has been sandblasted and painted inside and out. It has a newly refurbished 24 x 20 pump.   Gearbox and cutterhead engine is also new.  Engines are in perfect operation.    It has 3 different cutterheads.  Most controls and all gauges in the cabin are also new.

Located in the State of Texas, USA

Price for Dredger: USD $ 2,450,000

Dredge Pump and Drive

The dredge pump is powered by a “Electromotive Diesel” (EMD) model MD 645 E4 V12, four cycle, 12-cylinder, turbocharged and aftercooled diesel engine.   The engine is channel cooled, and started by compressed air.  An “Air-Flex” air operated clutch is mounted on the back of the engine, which drives the dredge pump through a “Haly” reduction gearbox.  The pump and gearbox are isolated by a gear type coupling.  The dredge pump is a “DredgeMasters” model number 70-2 4x 20 with a 70-inch impeller, 24-inch suction, and 20-inch discharge.

Hydraulic System and Drive

All of the hydraulic requirements of the dredge are powered by the auxiliary engine, including the cutter drive, the main dredging winch, and the ladder hoist winch.  The engine is a “Caterpillar” model D-398 four cycle, 6 cylinder, turbocharged and aftercooled diesel engine.  The engine is channel cooled and started by compressed air.  Hydraulic power is provided by a “Dynapower” model 888167-24 hydraulic pump.  This pressure compensated, variable volume pump provides very fine grained speed control while consuming only the horsepower required by the current load.  Consequently the system runs cooler and uses less fuel.

Electric Generator

A 358 kW generator provides 360 volt 3 ph power to the dredge for running electric motors and for lighting.  The generator is powered by a “Caterpillar” model 3304 four cycle, four cylinder, turbocharged and after cooled diesel engine.  The engine is heat exchanger cooled and started by battery power.

Air Compressor

A 10 horsepower electric powered air compressor provides compressed air for engine starting, air controls, and general use.

Service Water Pump

Service water for cooling and lubricating the main dredge pump bearings and cutter shaft bearings is provided by a “Gould” model 3196 1 x 1.5 x 10-inch centrifugal pump.  This pump is driven by an electric motor.
