The dredger is in excellent condition, and government maintained throughout its life, with about 597 total runtime hours currently. The dredger is self propelled via a steerable hydraulic propeller system, and can also maneuver on land for short distances by "walking" on it's tilting spuds and excavator arm. It can even jack itself up on its spuds and stabilizers so that a trailer can be backed under it, avoiding the need for a crane for loading..
The dredger is equipped with a hydraulic cutter attached to the end of the excavator that is attached to a dredge pump. This allows cutter suction dredging in tight places such as marina docks, and provides very accurate depth and position control. Discharge can be either through a pipeline, or the dredged material can be projected over the side through a nozzle.
