18-inch DSC "Shark" w/ 56-foot Dredging Depth
The 18-inch DSC "Shark" was built in 2014 and manufactured by Dredging Supply Company, Inc. in the USA. The primary diesel engine for the dredge pump is a model C?32 ACERT marine diesel engine designed for dredge duty (EPA TIER 2). The engine has a rating of 1350 hp (1006 kW) at 2100 RPM. The dredge pump diesel engine is coupled to a Twin Disc MGX6690 marine transmission with a 3.21:1 ratio and gear feet. The coupling is a Dodge PX280 and uses 7060 Taperlock bushings. The dredge pump is a Triathlon Form 44 and is of the centrifugal, single suction, volute type. The dredge has about 7,200-hours on it.
